€ 60 million has been raised in a new round of funding for the Dutch ridesharing startup, Dott. The new funding is additional to the € 70 million raised in spring 2021 for a total of € 130 million. Sofina, abrdn, EQT Ventures and Prosus Ventures have participated in this new round of finance.

Dott, founded in 2018, operates in nine countries with 10,000 e-bikes and 40,000 e-scooters in its fleet. In Italy alone, Dott is active in ten cities.
In 2021, rides grew by 130% compared to 2020 overall, with Italy accounting for ride increases of 180%.

The new financing round is aimed at growing the fleet by adding new e-bikes and enlarging operations in newer cities.

Alistair Watson, head of Strategy innovation in Private Equity at Aberdeen Standard Investment says: “Environmental, social and governance considerations are at the heart of our process as we seek the most sustainable investment opportunities globally. We felt that Dott is well positioned to be a leader in the category, offering a high quality product that has been recognised with significant growth in 2021, alongside a responsible business model which takes a rigorous approach to minimizing its carbon footprint”.
